RemARKable Stamp of the Month Blog Tour - February 2013

Month four of our blog tour and today we are featuring Collage Curios.  I'm only featuring one card this month but including a technique that we did at my Technique Class a few weeks back.  I hope you enjoy.

This card was one we did in my technique class a few weeks ago.  It features the Creped Filter Paper from the Spring 2013 Mini.  I will provide step by step instructions so you can recreate the flower.  The card is pretty simple.

I took one of the rectangle sheets and punched out 5 flowers using Blossom Punch.  Using reinkers (I choose Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie) and an Aqua Painter, I started with the center of the flower and the Melon Mambo.  Cleaned my Aqua Painter and then finished with Pumpkin Pie on the remainder.  Save a little scrap of creped paper for the center of the flower or use a brad.  Color it in Melon Mambo.  I then took a Stampin' Spritzer filled with rubbing alcohol and a little Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint and spritzed each of the 5 flowers quite wet to get the colors to run a little and to give them a shimmer.  Let dry completely (can use a heat gun to speed up the drying).

While they are drying I stamped the flower image from Mixed Bunch stamp set on Whisper White cs using the same colors of the flower.  Pumpkin Pie marker and Melon Mambo marker to color the stamp.  I used the small butterfly from Collage Curios in Melon Mambo and stamped randomly on the Whisper White cs.  I love this little butterfly and will be using it and the bee alot!
When the creped filter paper flowers are dry scrunch them up individually.  Slightly unfold and adhere in the center to each other using a hot glue gun.  Do NOT align the petal, but off set them to get a fuller look.  Adhere the flower center with hot glue and then adhere to Whisper White cs.  Scrunch up the flower again to give it fullness and 3D appearance.  Stamp your sentiment (I used Curly Cute stamp set).  Finish card.  I used Crumb Cake, Whisper White and Melon Mambo cardstock.  Inks were Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie. Lots of accessories used with this card and it is a bit time consuming (waiting for it to dry), but my class loved trying the Creped Filter Paper and the spritzer mixture.  Hope you will give it a try.  Remember Stampin' Up! has been

December 9 Remarkables Blog Tour - Affection Collection

I am so excited to be a part of this one day blog tour.  Check out all the participates for some great ideas on using the Affection Collection stamp set.  This set to me is vintage but the hearts with the wings makes me think of motorcycles.  Go figure where that came from.  I hope you like my 3 card designs will inspire you.

My first card I created with a motorcycle theme in mind, but with a feminine touch.
Pink Pirouette cs and ink, Basic Gray cs and ink, Real Red ink, whisper white cs, Labels Collection Framelits, lacy Brocade Embossing Folder , rhinestones, dimensionals, snips, snail and 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon.

My second card could be used as a wedding card or anniversary card.

It uses Elegant Eggplant cs and ink, Whisper White cs, Gumball Green ink, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Everything Eleanor stamp set, snail, dimensionals and large pearl.

My last card I was trying to go for the vintage look.  Of the 3, this is my favorite.
Riding Hood Red cs and ink, Very Vanilla cs, Natural Composition Speciality DSP, Crumb Cake ink, Early Expresso ink, distressing tool, 5/8" Victoria Crochet Trim, Antique Brad, snail and dimensionals.

Hope you have enjoyed my 3 samples.  Great cards to make for a class or workshop. Ideas were inspired from other great SU demonstrators.  Thank you.  Now continue on your tour by clicking the box below.  Stop back soon.
